 I have had the pleasure of knowing Steve both personally and professionally for a number of years.

We first met on a complex rail Project where Steve was the Project Director and we were appointed as the services contractor.

Steve’s approach to business was to ensure we blended as one such that the Project could be delivered efficiently and effectively.

His skill in identifying change and notifying us of the change and the complexities needed to price the variations ensured that economically we were treated fairly and to both our mutual satisfaction.

He possess’ the unique ability to defuse volatile situations that arise in negotiations and will go out of his way to create a work around to unblock emotions and attitudes with both work and the staff and contractors he engages with.

He has excellent team building skills and has assembled many teams of professionals over the years to deliver complex Projects.

Personally, l have found Steve easy to talk with and help with an understanding of problems without being patronising.

We have spent many hours outside of work enjoying each others company either over a pleasant meal or a round of golf.

I look forward to being with, and associated with Steve for many years to come.

  I first had the pleasure of meeting Steve in 1994, Steve was employed by a major contractor working for a Blue Chip Client in Essex engaged in a major re- fit within a working environment.

Although we carried out separate works activities on the Project, in order for it to be a success, collaboration was the key.

Steve demonstrated an understanding of other works activities that directly impacted his programmed tasks and as such brought value to the Project in both cost and time savings.

His approach to work and people made him easy to associate with both workwise and socially.

Since 1994 and to this day, our paths have continually crossed on a number of different projects with an array of various Clients, and each time our lasting friendship has exposed itself as still being strong and respectful.

Nowadays we see each other more in a social environment but still help each other when the need arises either for advice or work activities or if there is a need where we can help others.

He was and still remains professional in his attitude and approach to work activities being empathetic towards the needs of others whilst providing an unbiased opinion on an issue and welcomes healthy debate to his opinion in order to reach a mutual understanding for all concerned.

I truly value Steve as a trusted friend and would have no hesitation recommending him to represent anyone in need of his services.

After fifty years of writing documentation for the end user I have decided it is time to retire, but before departing work may I express my sincere thanks to Steve for help he has given in enabling me to understand the requirements of the building industry in contractual requirements, in maintenance requirements, and in health and safety needs.

Also, I appreciated Steve leading me through the complexities in valuing contract variations to enable completion and smooth handover.

In my working life I have written end user documents to many commercial and military formats. But, more recently the building industry is keen to have documentation to a high standard and follow strict guidance to ensure ease of operation and maintenance as well as improving Health & Safety. Here I wish to acknowledge Steve's guidance in preparation of technical content in contract negotiations.

Steve's patience and help I have found invaluable.
